This morning the children were presented with Jog-a-Thon awards. Special congratutaltions to Zachary and Amanda (1st place) and Julia and Cole (2nd place). Our top fundraisers were: Emma, Olivia, and Amanda. Very impressive.
We also have a new fund raiser begining today, watch for an envelop containing all the information.
The Spelling words all contain the blends: sh, th, ph, ch, and tch. The words are: father, chapter, other, alphabet, watch English, weather, catch, fashion, shrink, pitcher, flash, athlete, trophy, nephew, northern, establish, emphasis, hyphen, and challenge. The test will be Friday afternoon.
The vocab test Wednesday is over unit 7.
The words are:

RED RIBBON WEEK!
It is Red Ribbon Week. This week we will be talking about staying away from drugs. Wednesday is mismatch dress day, and Thursday is red shirt day (with jeans).
Tuesday night at 7 pm is the October PTO meeting. Please try to attend. It is a great way to keep informed with the activities around school.
The Story this week is called "Tops and Bottoms" The words all contain blends, either spl, thr, squ, or str. The words are: splash, throw, three, square, throat, strike, street, split, splurge, thrill, strength, squeak, throne, strawberry, squeeze, squid, squander, arthritis, instrument, and strategy. The test will be on Friday.

IT IS A BUSY WEEK!
It may be a short week, but we will stay busy. The class will have a spelling and reading test on Friday. The test for Chapter 4 in Math will be Thursday.

They are: sunglasses, football, homework, haircut, popcorn, railroad, snowstorm, earring, scarecrow, blueberry, butterflies, lawnmower, campground, sandbox, toothbrush, thumbtack, earthquake, scrapbook, courthouse, and whirlpool.

It's an adventure in third grade!
As the previous post said, we are getting settled in the new building. The morning has been spent trying to get work done, but everyone wants to test the bathroom and drinking fountains.

AWESOME NEWS!
I think we will be able to move next week. I know it has been stressful for the students, but I promise it will all be worth it! We will have a bright shiny new room. I can hardly wait. Thank you to everyone who worked on, supported, assisted, and prayed for the building. Words cannot express my gratitude and excitement.
