Poster due 10/6

Just a reminder the fire department poster is due October 6.
The story for this week is: Penguin Chick, all words contain vowel consonant vowel (vcv). The words are: finish, pilot, even, wagon, music, silent,, rapid, female, lemon, pupil, focus,robot, tulip, camel, salad,resident, spinach, climate, tradition, and innocent.
The kids did a great job at rise and shine and the cheer was fabulous. For all of those who attended, thank you. It can get loud, but it was fun.
Have a great week. Picture retakes are Wednesday. Whole class pictures are Wednesday too, so Mass uniforms, please.

This week's vocabulary is a review of the four previous units.
Next week we will be learning about St. Francis of Assisi. To honor him we will be making a collage using pictures of our pets and animals. When your child comes home asking for a picture of Fido, please understand will not be returned. Thanks.
The pet blessing for students will be Friday immediately after school in front of the St Francis building. The St. Francis building is by the parish offices for St. Anne's Church.

What a busy week we have!

Remember, Monday, September 21 is our Rise and Shine. If your child doesn't have a speaking part this time, they will the next Rise and Shine we host. It is also a Spirit shirt day, and Jog-A-Thon kick off.
Progress reports come home for students today. We just started a Social Studies unit so there are no social studies grades on the progress report. Do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions or concerns from the progress report.
The story this week is "my row and piles of coins". All words contain the vowel sound found in out or toy. The words are: proud, shower, hour, amount, voyage, choice, avoid, thousand, prowl, employ, bounce, poison, annoy, broil, however, mountain, coward, turmoil, and chowder.
Wednesday we are having the Windy City players come to All Saints for a show. It should be lots of fun!

PTO MEETING TUESDAY @ 7:00

Today the students are bringing home the pledge sheet for JOG-A-THON. This year's funds will go to the new building. Thank you for support.

IT'S A SHORT WEEK FULL OF LEARNING

I hope you had a restful holiday weekend. We are back in full swing. The story for this week is "Alexander" the spelling words contain the endings -est, -ing, -er or -ed. The words are; using, getting, easiest, swimming, heavier, greatest, pleased, emptied, leaving, worried, strangest, freezing, funniest, angrier, shopped, included, occurred, supplying, scarier, and happiest.
The comprehension tests are remarkable harder than second grade. You may want to review key concepts with your child prior to a test.
